For every high school student looking ahead to the college application process, the Common Application (the Common App) is one of the most central elements. It is good to become familiar with it in August of your senior year particularly since the newest version was released on August 1.

But getting familiar with the Common Application only makes sense if it is accepted by one or more of the colleges on your personal College Selection List. Need help creating that list? It may be important to understand exactly what it is and how it works.

The Common Application provides an efficient avenue for applying to several colleges that make use of it because it can be sent to any number of the participating institutions. Additionally the School Report, Midyear Report, Final Report and Teacher Evaluation forms can also be submitted though the same process. It simplifies things!

Participating colleges have formally agreed to give equal consideration to the common application as they do to their own application form, so you know you will get fair College Consulting Inctreatment. Even if you want to make a few changes for a specific college, that is possible.

For those schools who want you to complete their “supplement” to the Common Application, such supplements can be attached for the submission you make.

    I realized from reading this article that I should put a great deal of effort into the Common Application when I begin to work on college applications this coming August or September….Really good tips….. and I guess I should even get familiar with the Common App now! Treg
